Pick on looks alone.
Both finishes are the same Japanese cedar and the same build, so there is no performance difference. Natural weathers toward a soft silver over the years. Charcoal gives you the dark shou-sugi-ban-inspired look from day one and holds it.
Same heat, different control.
Both heaters run 6 kW of authentic Finnish heat and reach the same temperatures. The Harvia Vega uses analog dials and keeps Wi-Fi out of the cabin entirely. The HUUM Drop adds the UKU controller, so you can start the heater from your phone and walk into a hot sauna 45 minutes later.
Covered or open to the sky?
One question decides it: will the sauna sit under cover? Under a deck, pergola or carport, skip the kit. Out in the open, take the Colorbond kit. Australian steel that handles full sun and salt air, with no asphalt shingles to off-gas.

You'll spend hundreds of hours in this cabin, breathing hard, at 90°C. We weren't willing to make you the guinea pig. So there's no glue holding it together, no filler packed into the knots, no petrochemical shingle on the roof. Just solid clear-grade Japanese cedar and stainless steel, nothing that off-gases when you heat it or bake it in the sun. Most brands cut every one of those corners. We cut none.
Built to the Real Rules of Löyly.
Most home saunas are a hot box with stones. The Genesis Mini is built to the real Finnish laws of löyly, and it comes down to two things: a two-tier bench that sits you up in the heat layer, and a proper active ventilation system moving the air. Get those right and the heat sits evenly, head to toe. No hot head, no cold feet. You sit the full 20 minutes and walk out recharged, not flogged.
The Only Home Sauna That Actually Breathes.
Heating a sauna is easy. Moving the air is the part everyone skips. Finnish researchers proved passive vents don't work in an electric cabin back in the 1990s, and every Australian brand still uses them anyway. We engineered the opposite: a dual-speed marine-grade stainless steel extraction system, the lungs of the sauna. Stale air and CO₂ out under the foot bench. Fresh air in above the heater. The result: a clear head, longer sessions, and a cabin that dries itself, so it never grows mould or rot.
Recovery That Respects Your Sleep.
Blue light tells your brain it's midday and spikes cortisol. That's the opposite of what recovery needs. So the Genesis Mini runs heat-resistant amber and red light only. Zero blue in the cabin. Sweat after dark and your body still winds down for sleep, instead of fighting your own circadian rhythm.

Installing it outside, fully exposed? Most saunas top the timber with petrochemical asphalt shingles, then heat the lot. Asphalt belongs on the road, not the roof of a detox space. You need a dedicated 32A circuit, single-phase or three-phase, installed by a licensed electrician. Most homes can run one. The spec sheet above has the full electrical detail to hand your electrician.
The cabin is 1.57 m wide by 1.95 m deep by 2.30 m tall. You want 300 mm clear on each side to build it, and 600 mm behind. It needs a level, solid base: concrete slab, timber deck, pavers or tiles.
Count the people who will use it at the same time. The Mini seats up to three on a two-tier bench and needs a space just under 2 by 2.8 metres. The Genesis seats up to five on an L-shaped bench and needs about 3.3 by 3.4 metres. Every system is identical: same cedar, same active ventilation, same lighting, same build standard. If you sauna alone or as a couple, or space is tight, take the Mini. If you host, take the Genesis.

No. In an electric sauna, passive vents barely move air, so CO₂ climbs and you get brain fog. The two-speed Psycle Clean Air Active Ventilation System keeps fresh air moving without dropping the temperature, and it dries the cabin after use so mould never gets a start. The fan itself sits outside the cabin, so you barely hear it.
